Water and Wastewater Allocation

Trying to figure out whether you need a Water/Wastewater Capacity Letter?  See our FAQ in the tile below!

Availability & Capacity Analysis

We want to ensure that our water and wastewater systems have sufficient capacity to serve the needs of all properties in Burlington.  The flow demands for new construction, redevelopment or change in use may require evaluation in order to be compliant with State and Local regulations.  Interested parties are expected to contact the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation to learn about permit requirements and possible exemptions.

Apply

If your project requires an allocation letter from the City of Burlington, then you must remit the proposed design flows and project information in writing.  The review process can take 4-6 weeks and final determinations will be sent via email.  Visit OpenGov and select "Water & Sewer Capacity Approval"

Fees

We do not currently charge a fee for this service, however that is subject to change.
