DPW Operations - Water Plant

During this challenging time, Burlington Water Resources is committed to providing our community with customer care and billing support, along with essential drinking water and wastewater services.  However, we have modified our day to day operations as a precaution to keep you, and our staff, safe and healthy.  Please review the current list of changes and the best ways to get in touch with us now.

Recent Changes

  • **NEW** We have resumed all site visits to both residential and commercial properties.
  • The State of Vermont has issued guidance and recommendations for restoring water quality in vacant or low use buildings that were shuttered due to the Stay Home, Stay Safe order.  Review that information today!
  • All Water & Wastewater facilities remain closed to customers and other visitors.
  • All Water Resources staff who are able to effectively work from home remain offsite.

Ratepayer Relief & Assistance

  • We have suspended service terminations for non-payment of delinquent water bills.
  • We have suspended the 1% monthly interest assessment on all delinquent balances.
  • We have suspended the $33 fee assessed on all returned payments.
  • We have eliminated the convenience fee charged on all credit card and echeck payments effective 4/1/20.
  • We have extended the terms of written payment arrangements for outstanding balances from 12 months to 24 months.
  • **NEW** The Vermont Emergency Rental Assistance Program (VERAP) can help pay past due utility bills for eligible residential renters suffering COVID related economic hardship.  Find out more by visiting the Vermont Department of Public Service.
  • **NEW** We have proposed changes to our rate structure that include a Water Resources Assistance Program (WRAP).  Learn more about this project and the timeline for implementation.
