DPW Operations - Water Plant

During this challenging time, Burlington Water Resources is committed to providing our community with customer care and billing support, along with essential drinking water and wastewater services.  However, we have modified our day to day operations as a precaution to keep you, and our staff, safe and healthy.  Please review the current list of changes and the best ways to get in touch with us now.   

Recent Changes

  • All Water & Wastewater facilities remain closed to customers and other visitors.  
  • Review our Prevention & Preparedness Guide intended to ensure safe interactions with residents, contractors and each other.     
  • The State of Vermont has issued guidance and recommendations for restoring water quality in vacant or low use buildings that were shuttered due to the Stay Home, Stay Safe order.  Review that information today! 

Ratepayer Relief & Assistance

  • We have voluntarily continued a temporary suspension of our normal collection & disconnection procedures.  Resuming in April 2023  
  • We have temporarily suspended the $33 fee assessed on all returned payments effective 3/1/20.  Resuming April 2023
  • We have eliminated the convenience fee charged on all credit card and echeck payments effective 4/1/20.  
  • We have extended the terms of written payment arrangements for outstanding balances from 12 months to 24 months.
  • We participate in all state grant programs that provide utility assistance including VHAP, LIHWAP and VERAP.   
  • The Water Resources Assistance Program (WRAP) began in August 2021 and offers bill discounts, rebates and more.

We are still providing Customer Care, Billing & Metering support but have reduced staffing levels onsite and appreciate your patience.  Our current business hours are Monday-Friday from 8 am – 4:00 pm.
