Department of Public Works

Fall Leaf Pickup

Public Works picks up bagged leaves every Autumn. Last year Burlington residents composted over 150 tons of leaves!  This year’s dates are November 13-17, 2023. Please set your leaves out on your recycling day. If you get missed, please call 863-9094 or make a report on burlingtonvt.gov/dpw/scf. Thank you for helping to keep Burlington a beautiful place to live, work and play.

Certain CSWD facilities and the McNeil Wood and Yard Debris Depot are also offering drop off options.  If you need more information on locations or proper disposal of yard debris, please visit: https://cswd.net/community-announcements/leaves/.

The BED Waste Wood Yard accepts yard waste, including leaves. While they do accept wood debris from commercial landscapers, they do not accept yard waste from commercial landscapers. Commercial landscapers must bring yard waste to CSWD’s Drop-Off Center on Redmond Road in Williston. Visit the Waste Wood Yard website page for more information on yard hours and related rules.
