Fire Investigation
The office of the City Fire Marshal investigates the origin and cause of fires. Cases that are determined to be suspicious are referred to the Vermont State Police Fire Investigation Unit.
** If you are having work done to your home or business, please call Fire Dispatch at 802-864-5311 to report construction at that location. If any alarms go off, you are responsible for the false alarm. **
FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS PERMIT EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2018
Notice to fire protection contractors 11/26/19: Effective immediately, all work permit applications have been updated to reflect an increase in the assessed recording fee from $10 to $15 under the provisions of 32 VSA § 1671. Please dispose of all previous versions of these work permit applications.
