Confined Space Entry

If you are researching contact information regarding confined space entry notification, please be aware that Burlington Fire Department can only be listed as your “Rescue and Emergency Service”. Due to staffing constraints, we cannot guarantee we will have personnel on duty who are trained to perform a rescue that is technical in nature, as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.146(k) or other VOSHA standards which define rescue as required. This could cause us to request additional resources from neighboring communities, delaying the arrival of trained personnel. You need to make sure you have your own on site “Stand-by” person or persons, dependent on the type of space you are entering. Make sure you review all necessary OSHA standards pertaining to the space you are working in.
