Firefighters currently work a 24/48 schedule, meaning 24 hours on-duty, 48 hours off-duty. Beggining May 2023, the schedule will change to 48/96, meaning 48 hours on-duty, 96 hours off-duty. Starting salary for an entry-level firefighter is $55,332.26 base pay with an additional 4% for Advanced EMT and 10% for Paramedic certifications. Additionally, annual retention bonuses and military/education bonuses are available.

- Minimum applicant qualifications include a current EMT certification.
- Employees MUST obtain an Advanced EMT certification within 2 years of hire.
- CPAT certification is NOT required to apply. However, YOU MUST have a current CPAT certification to begin your employment. CPAT testing facilities can be found through the fire academy website of the state in which you wish to test.
