North Avenue & Ethan Allen Parkway Intersection Improvements

PROJECT BACKGROUND

As recommended in the 2015 North Avenue Corridor study, the City of Burlington is evaluating options for improving safety and operational efficiency of the North Avenue and Ethan Allen Parkway intersection.  Conceptual plans for this intersections have been developed from the 2015 North Avenue Corridor Study and the 2005 North Avenue Intersection Scoping Study which can be downloaded from the City’s website at https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/DPW/Links-Library.

This is an initial evaluation of potential improvements.  City Staff are seeking input from local residents and other City entities on the preferred conceptual design.  The range of options includes the option to not make substantive changes.  Once the preferred alternative has been identified, and it is something other than keeping the existing condition, DPW Staff will:

  1. 1.  Move preferred alternative forward to preliminary engineering design.
  2. 2.  Present the preliminary engineering design to the community.
  3. 3.  Complete the final engineering design.
  4. 4.  Develop a construction schedule.
