2022 Redistricting

In March 2023, Burlington voters approved the proposed redistricting. The new boundary lines will go into effect for the March 2024 Annual City Election. 

Council Approved Map for March 2023 Charter Change

On January 23rd, 2023, the City Council approved the "Ward Redistricting, 8 Wards – 4 Districts, 12 councilors, Approved Map (Requested Edits to December Map - City Edits V2)" for consideration by Burlington Voters on the March 2023 Ballot.

Redistricting Process

The 2020 Census recorded population changes that required Burlington to redistrict its wards and districts. Information on the process to develop the approved map can be found below.
