City of Burlington RFQ for Solar Energy Projects

The City of Burlington (the “City”) is soliciting qualification-based proposals (or “RFQ”) from commercial solar companies to assist the municipality in the development of renewable energy projects at no net cost to the City except as may occur pursuant to a PPA or net metering arrangement with Burlington Electric Department (“BED”).  

Four (4) sites have been identified to be evaluated for the installation and operations of photovoltaic (“PV”) solar energy systems to further the City’s goals and commitments to providing clean renewable energy sources for its facilities and the Burlington community.

The identified sites include the following City properties.

  • Manhattan Drive Landfill located at 180 Manhattan Drive, Burlington, VT 05401; Tax ID:  039-2-053-000

  • Beltline (Route VT 127) mowed areas located in the right of way in the area of the North Ave / Beaches on-ramps and off-ramps.

  • Burlington, VT 05401;525 Main Street, Burlington Drinking Water Reservoir Roofs located at Tax ID:  050-3-049-000

  • Burlington Water Treatment Plant Roof located at 235 Penny Lane, Burlington, VT 05401; Tax ID: 043-4-004-000

Responding firms will be required to demonstrate professional services that efficiently evaluate the feasibility of solar systems at these locations.
