Here’s what you need to know:

Effective March 30, 2020, the City of Burlington has opened an application program for small businesses to apply to receive grant allocations from a pool of federal CDBG funds.

The funds are available to low- and moderate- income business owners, and businesses trying to retain jobs for low- and moderate-income workers.

The funds may be used to cover business operations, including but not limited to rent, utilities, and working capital.

The grant program will use funds that the City already had available (usually in the form of part loan/part grant) to assist small businesses, but the City obtained permission from the Federal government to move these funds to our small businesses more quickly. The City expects to have more CDBG funding coming from the Federal Stimulus package.

The application survey will be open until April 5.

After April 5, the City Resource and Recovery team will review applications and disperse the grants.
