The Downtown Garage is Open for Business!

Marketplace Garage Renovations Underway;

Head to the Downtown Garage Instead for Plenty of space and 2 Hours of Free Parking!

Burlington, VT - Burlington's newly re-branded Downtown Garage is ready for you. With 2 hours of free parking and totally free parking all day Sundays it’s your best parking choice to visit the Church Street Marketplace and Burlington’s beautiful waterfront.

What’s new at the Downtown Garage?

Formerly called the College & Lakeview Garage Complex, the newly named Downtown Garage is easy to get to and has a lot to offer: nearly 1,200 spaces!; 3 convenient entrances off of Cherry, Battery and College, and gateless entry with the convenience of paying with ParkMobile and extending your stay remotely if needed. And don’t forget 2 hours of free parking. (see map below)

“We have many visitors and downtown employees already using the Downtown Garage,” said Jeff Padgett, Division Director of Parking Services at Public Works. “It’s close by, clean and there’s always parking available. It is a GREAT option for downtown parking.”

Over the past year there have been some major improvements in the Downtown Garage, including:

  1. Implemented gateless access with ParkMobile OR Kiosk payment
  2. Improved lighting
  3. Enhanced graffiti control
  4. Repaired/Replaced security sameras
  5. Publicly viewable security camera monitors
  6. Increased security staff presence
  7. Increased operations and maintenance staff presence
  8. Increased attention to landscaping

What’s Going on at Marketplace Garage?

As early as Monday October 24th, Marketplace Garage (at Winooski and Bank) will be undergoing important structural renovations – including repairs to beams, the deck and the brick facade. No more than 20% of parking spaces will be restricted at any time to allow for this  work. Marketplace is Burlington’s favorite garage so please plan ahead and consider the Downtown Garage as the dependable, predicable and safe alternative.

Whoops! ... What if I Overstay at the Downtown Garage?

You can always remotely extend your parking session with ParkMobile – accessed via the ParkMobile app or your web-browser (www.parkmobile.io). However, if you do happen to get at ticket, we now offer a once-a-year Whoops! and will void your ticket. This is only applicable to a non-safety related parking tickets issued by the City.
