2023 HOLIDAY HOURS & TREE PICKUP

Friday 12/22: DPW buildings close at 3PM

Monday 12/25: DPW is closed and there will be no recycling services. City parking is free.

Monday 1/1: DPW is closed, but recycling WILL be picked up. City parking is free.

Monday 1/8: Xmas Tree Pickup. Leave your bare tree out by 7AM. Trees must be bare of all ornaments, tinsel, etc and be out on 1/8. Due to weather, tree pickup may be delayed. Keep your tree curbside and DPW crews will pick them up this week as time/weather allow. Thanks for your patience.

After Hours Services & Hours

On City holidays:

  • Recycling:  NOT picked up on Memorial Day, Independence Day (or observed), Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas (or observed). Picked up all other weekdays.
  • All DPW buildings and customer service will be closed
  • Parking is free at on street meters and in city-owned garages from midnight to midnight. 

So, what do you do if you need to reach us while we're away (either holidays, after-hours or weekends)?

  • For urgent water questions, please call our Water Resources team (24/7) 802-863-4501.
  • For urgent street, sidewalk or sewer issues, please call our answering service at 802-864-7428 and someone will be dispatched for urgent scenarios.
  • For non-urgent matters, feel free to submit them at https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/DPW/SCF or by emailing dpw-pinecustomerservice@burlingtonvt.gov. We reopen at 7AM.
  • For urgent conditions that present risk to safety or property, always call emergency services. 
  • For urgent Parking Services matters that cannot wait until business hours, please contact BPD Dispatch at 802-658-2704.
