General Election

Polls Open 7am-7pm 

City Clerk's Office will close to in person customers at 12:30pm and to phone calls at 1pm on Monday, November 2, 2020 to prepare for the Election

Early/Absentee Ballot Request Form or Request an Early/Absentee Ballot Online

For the November 3 General Election absentee ballots will automatically be mailed to all active, registered voters. Ballots will be sent between September 21-October 1. If you do not receive your ballot by the first week of October, please contact our office. Additional information is available on the Vermont Secretary of State's website


Ways to return your ballot:

  • By Mail no later than October 27
  • At The City Clerk's Office during business hours of Monday 8-12:30pm
  • 24/7 Outdoor Ballot Drop Boxes (last pickup Monday, November 2 at 4;30pm) located at:
    • City Hall, 149 Church St., on the Main Street Sidewalk across from the Flynn Theater
    • Department of Public Works, 645 Pine St., front door
    • Fire Station #2, 132 North Ave., rear of building 
  • Indoor Ballot Drop Boxes located at:
    • City Hall, 149 Church St., Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
    • Miller Center, 130 Gosse Crt., Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm
  • At the polls on Election Day - On Tuesday, November 3 all ballots must be delivered to your polling place
