The latest updates in the City's response to the coronavirus:
- On Friday evening, Governor Phil Scott declared a state of emergency in response the the coronavirus. The Governor's executive order directs a number of immediate actions to extend until at least April 15, including: 1) Restrictions on visitors at elderly and psychiatric care facilities; 2) Suspension of all non-essential mass gatherings of more than 250 people for social and recreational activities; and 3) Extension of unemployment insurance to Vermonters who have received instructions from their healthcare providers to self-isolate or quarantine. - On Friday evening, Mayor Weinberger announced that he will host a telephone town hall meeting on Sunday, March 15 at 3:00 pm to discuss the City's response to the coronavirus. The town hall meeting will include the Mayor, Burlington Emergency Management Director and Fire Chief Steven Locke, UVM Medical Center President and CEO Dr. Stephen Leffler, and State Department of Health Deputy Commissioner Tracy Dolan.
