RRC Request for Concept Notes to Promote Food Security in Burlington

Interested organizations should please submit a concept note for how your organization or consortium of local organizations would benefit from grant funding to address the immediate food security needs of Burlingtonians arising due to COVID-19. The grant funding will be awarded on a competitive basis for projects between $5,000 and $40,000. Total funding available is up to $80,000. Applications should be submitted by July 31st, 2020 to CEDOFD@BurlingtonVT.gov. In your 2-4 page concept note, please address the following:

1. Food security needs assessment, and how you will meet the most urgent needs for food insecure populations in Burlington.

2. Program details including:

  • Program Design
  • Dates of implementation
  • Number of beneficiaries and meals served

3. Organizational capacity to carry out the proposed program.

4. Sustainability and Equity considerations of the program to help address long-term food security issues

  • Equity:  information on how program beneficiaries will be targeted
  • Duplication: how is this project not duplicating other food security projects
  • Partnerships: what multipliers or amplifiers are being employed

5. Financial information:

  • A budget (broken down as labor, direct costs, indirect costs)
  • Any details about organization cost sharing or philanthropic match
