The Burlington Police Department is the largest municipal police force in the state of Vermont, with 105 sworn officers and 40 civilian staff. The department focuses on community-based policing, an approach that is all about serving the needs of Burlington’s residents. Every year, the department responds to more than 25,000 calls for service.
The BPD is tasked with responding to and preventing crime, along with providing services to ensure public safety and enforcing our traffic laws, all while treating people fairly. Crime statistics show that in recent years burglaries, in particular, have fallen sharply, especially in the University section of the city, which has historically been hardest hit.
The Burlington International Airport (BTV) strives to provide and promote the highest quality of service to its customers, passengers, visitors to the airport, airport tenants, and the general aviation community. As the primary commercial service airport for Vermont, BTV is a key economic driver for the region, as well as a gateway for business and leisure travelers.
The number of enplaned passengers is the most important air traffic metric tracked across the industry because the majority of airport revenues are generated directly or indirectly from enplanements.
