Mayor Miro Weinberger Statement on Redistricting Bill Signing
“I’d like to thank the Legislature – particularly lead sponsors Rep. Kurt Wright and Rep. Joey Donovan – for acting quickly on Burlington's voter-approved redistricting Charter Change, and the Governor for signing it into law today. After Town Meeting Day 2015, for the first time in years, all Burlington voters will enjoy equal representation on the City Council. I want to thank all of the City Councilors and citizens who engaged in the lengthy effort to craft a new plan, especially the late George Gamache, who sadly died before having a chance to see his compromise plan become a reality.”
