Mayor Miro Weinberger Statement in Response to Champlain Parkway Decision
"The City is extremely pleased with the Vermont Supreme Court's decision to affirm the Environmental Division's approval of the Act 250 permit for the Champlain Parkway. The City has worked hard to advance the project by resolving conflicts and concerns with City residents and continues to move ahead with designing the road, bike path, and pedestrian infrastructure that promotes safe, efficient, and sustainable mobility in Burlington. Today's decision is an important milestone, as it resolves the last pending challenge to the project's permits. However, more work and planning remain to be completed before construction begins. Thank you to our project partners, the Federal Highway Administration and the Vermont Agency of Transportation, for their ongoing support."
