FREE PARKING PROMOTION DURING GREAT STREETS - ST. PAUL PROJECT

BUSINESSES OPEN, PEDESTRIANS ALWAYS WELCOME, RATES REDUCED

Burlington, VT - The City of Burlington, Champlain College and Park Burlington are excited to announce a free parking promotion through August during the Great Streets project on Saint Paul St. Beginning on April 1st, the new covered lots at 194 St. Paul St - with entrances on King or Maple - will offer a first hour of free parking and a rate reduction to $1/Hr for every hour thereafter. See the attached map for the location of the parking lots. You must still use Parkmobile or the kiosk machine to set up your parking session, even for the hour of free parking.

Details About Great Streets

Burlington’s first Great Streets project will resume full construction efforts again on April 1, depending on frost-depth, and last through the final weeks of August. This project will transform the St. Paul corridor -- enhancing the resiliency of our city’s infrastructure and the commercial vibrancy of these blocks. Sidewalks will be rebuilt and widened, roads repaved, tree canopies improved, rain gardens/benches/bike racks/welcoming-street lighting installed, and overhead utilities buried.

While St. Paul - between Main & Maple - will close to vehicular traffic, businesses remain open, side streets will usually be open and pedestrians are always welcome! Please note, there will be occasional short-term local traffic only patterns established on King or Maple -- often between Pine and Church. The covered lots are still accessible during this work.
