Burlington, VT – A second parking ban will go into effect citywide tonight (2/4) beginning at 10PM (in the downtown core enforcement begins at midnight). We encourage you to avoid travel and avoid parking on street today if you can. All available crews will be responding to snow clearing efforts today.
For residents of Franklin Square, Zone H streets will be cleaned tonight and cars should be off the street to allow for snow clearing. This includes the North and East Side of Franklin Square. We will not be enforcing the no street parking restriction on the South and West Side of Franklin Square and Red Maple Lane.
Our recycling pickup is canceled today. We appreciate your understanding. We have experienced some mechanical issues this morning while on the road and crews will be redeployed to snow operations. Our mechanics are focusing on snow and emergency vehicles at this time. Crews will be responding to snow for the next few days. Your recycling will be collected next Friday (2/11).
Parking will be free in our garages. If you have already parked your vehicle there due to last night’s ban, you may leave it in place and avoid today’s fee. Others may park there today, as space allows, at no charge. Your car must be removed by tomorrow (Saturday 2/5) at 9AM to avoid fees.
Preliminary Snow Response Update (as of 8AM 2/4): Crews were out all night and report getting to every street at least one time. However, to keep up with heavy snowfall rates, the main roads were the focus. Crews are still out and working back through all routes at this time.
Sidewalk crews are working with snow blowers on their tractor due to light and blowing snow. This will slow response times. Rather than a normal cycle of getting every sidewalk 2-3x in a 24/hr period, it will likely take a few days to completely clear every sidewalk. They are still working their way around in force.

The ban will be in effect from 10PM - 7AM throughout most of Burlington, except downtown which is in effect from midnight - 6AM (see below for streets within the downtown zone enforcement area).
Any vehicles remaining on the street during the parking ban may be issued a $125.00 parking ticket by Burlington Parking Services and towed to another location.

By ordinance, Zone F shall include all streets bounded by the following streets:
- The easternmost boundary shall be defined and include South Willard Street from Pearl Street to Maple Street.
- The southernmost boundary shall be defined by and include Maple Street from South Willard Street to South Winooski Avenue, South Winooski Avenue from Maple Street to Adams Street, Adams Street from South Winooski Avenue to St. Paul Street, St. Paul Street from Adams Street to Kilburn Street, and Kilburn Street.
- The westernmost boundary shall be defined by Lake Champlain.
