Proposed Amendments Before the Planning Commission

Proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Development Ordinance (CDO) that are currently before the Planning Commission are listed below.

Proposed amendments are first considered by the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission then votes whether to send the proposed amendment as is, or in revised form, to the City Council. The City Council then votes whether to adopt the Planning Commission's proposed amendment, or a revised form.

Final adopted versions are shown in Recently Adopted Amendments until they are incorporated into the text of the Comprehensive Development Ordinance itself.

ZA-19-04 Trees, Junkyards, and Cross Reference Correction: The purpose of this proposed amendment reorganizes the tree cutting standards.  No new or different standards are proposed.  The proposed amendment also defines "junkyard" and modifies "automobile/vehicle salvage yard" definition and prohibits both in all zoning districts.  The proposed amendment also corrects the cross reference to Part 5 in Sec. 6.2.2 (p).  The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on this amendment on a date to be determined.

Updates to Inclusionary Zoning (IZ) Ordinance: The purpose of these forthcoming amendments is to update Article 9 of the CDO (IZ Ordinance), and other relevant sections of the CDO, based on a number of recommendations forwarded by City Council. These amendments are intended to ensure the ordinance better meets the city's housing goals and is a better complement the Housing Trust Fund. For more information, see this presentation to the Planning Commission on 3/12 or these documents related to the comprehensive review of the IZ Ordinance
