CDBG Notice of Funding Availability

The City of Burlington is currently soliciting applications from community organizations and City departments for funding through its Community Development Block Grant program. The City receives almost $750,000 per year from HUD via the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.  CDBG funds develop viable urban communities through the provision of decent, safe, sanitary housing, suitable living environments, and the expansion of economic opportunities primarily for low to moderate income persons. Burlington has been recognized for its extensive citizen participation in the allocation of funds which is driven by the CDBG Advisory Board.

This funding can be used to support Public Services or Development projects that benefit low to moderate income Burlington residents. Early Childhood Education, Youth Services, Housing and Homelessness, Health, and Economic Opportunity programs will be given priority for public service funding. Examples of eligible Public Service costs include: supplies, food, or rent for service space, and Development funds can be used for accessibility upgrades, rehabilitation, purchase, or demolition.  For information regarding eligibility and the application process see the Notice of Funding Availability (attached) and online HERE
