The Department of Public Works and consulting engineers from VHB have drafted concept plans that address the Birchcliff Parkway neighborhood's request for traffic calming. A neighorhood meeting was hosted virtually on September 15, 2020. Based on the neighborhood's input, a plan has been developed that will install traffic calming at regular intervals along Birchcliff Parkway.

Status Updates:
- Based on neighborhood input, the optional gateway treatment at Birchcliff Pkwy / Shelburne Street will not be constructed.
- Stormwater analysis was conducted to determine if the bumpouts at Alder Lane and Linden Terrace could become raingardens. That analysis determined the bumpouts are not ideal locations for stormwater treatment.
- Preliminary design of the raised crosswalks and bumpouts is underway. DPW anticipates that final plans will be complete and advertised for construction in June 2021.
