Fees

All permits have required fees. These fees are typically for the processing of the permit and are due at application time. Other fees such as Development Review fees, Impact fees and fees to request the Final Unified Certificate of Occupancy (for zoning permits applied for before July 1, 2020) are all due after the permit has been approved. FEE EXAMPLES

COA Level 1 - A project involves constructing a new $1,500 deck. Assuming all work and payments were done in a timely fashion, the fees would be as follows:

  1. $122 Zoning Permit Application Fee (includes application, filing, and certificate of occupancy fees)
  2. $30 Construction Permit Fee (any project up to $2858 construction cost).  An additional $10 may be added if the project requires a Building Certificate of Occupancy.

TOTAL for this project would be $152-162 in fees.

 

COA Level 2 - A project involves constructing a new $50,000 deck. Assuming all work and payments were done in a timely fashion, the fees would be as follows:

  1. $250 Zoning Permit Application Fee (The first 'half' of the zoning fee, due at application)
  2. $225 Development Review Fee (The second 'half' of the zoning fee, due when the zoning permit is picked up)
  3. $440 Construction Permit Fee ($8.50 per $1,000 of construction cost plus $15 recording fee).  An additional $10 may be added is the project requires a Building Certificate of Occupancy.

TOTAL for this project would have $915 or $925 in fees.

Fees are calculated based upon the Estimated Construction Cost, so please be prepared with the project's estimated construction cost dollar figure.
